Lisa Marie Presley’s Actual Cause of Death Disclosed
Lisa Marie Presley’s official cause of death has been revealed.
Lisa Marie: According to the autopsy report Lisa Marie, the only child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, passed away from complications from a small intestinal obstruction.
The deputy medical examiner, Juan M. Carillo, noted in the report that the obstruction was a strangulated small bowel brought on by adhesions that formed during bariatric surgery years earlier.
The summary says Lisa Marie had earlier in the day complained of abdominal pain before being discovered unconscious and sent to the hospital. She had been found to have “a severely distended abdomen” and “severe metabolic acidosis” while in the hospital.
The autopsy showed that Lisa Marie had “therapeutic levels of oxycodone in the blood,” as well as “quetiapine metabolite along with buprenorphine and associated metabolites.” They were “not contributory to death,” the report stated. It was agreed that Lisa Marie died naturally.
In a statement to People at the time, Priscilla, 78, said, “It is with a heavy heart that I must convey the devastating news that my beloved daughter Lisa Marie has left us. “She was the most passionate, powerful, and loving woman I’ve ever met. In order to process this tragic loss, we respectfully request your privacy. Thank you for your prayers and kindness. No other comments will be given at this time.
Priscilla made the statement after source confirmed that the “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet” the musician had experienced heart arrest and was taken to the hospital. According to TMZ, Lisa Marie underwent CPR before being brought to the hospital’s emergency room.
Lisa Marie attended Golden Globe Awards just 2 days earlier
The musician attended to the 2022 Austin Butler-starring Elvis biopic’s 2022 Golden Globe Awards two days earlier with her mother.
Butler, 31, was honored for his role of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll with the Best Actor in a Motion Picture — Drama award. He honored Lisa Marie and Priscilla during his award speech on Tuesday, January 10 at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
“Thank you for opening your hearts, your memories, your home to me,” Before addressing to the Presleys straight from the stage, the Carrie Diaries alum told them. “Lisa Marie, Priscilla, I love you forever.”
The late rock icon’s legacy was preserved over the years by Lisa Marie and Priscilla, who was married to the singer of “Hound Dog” from 1967 to 1973. Both women also given their approval for Baz Luhrmann’s biography about the late musician.
“I really didn’t know what to do with myself after I saw [the movie],” Lisa Marie told ET. “I had to take, like, five days to process it because it was so incredible and so spot on and just so authentic that, yeah, I can’t even describe what it meant.”
The singer of “Storm & Grace” is survived by her children Riley Keough, 34, and twin daughters Harper and Finley, 14, whom she shared with ex-husband Michael Lockwood. Riley Keough and Finley are also survivors.
The Daisy Jones and the Six actress was named as the only trustee of Lisa Marie’s trust, which became the subject of a contentious inheritance dispute between Riley and Priscilla after the musician passed away. Their case settled in May, and Riley was appointed as the sole trustee.
“After the extremely traumatic experience involving Lisa Marie’s trust and estate, Riley and Priscilla are at peace with each other, a source previously told Us. “After much back and forth, they finally found a solution that makes them both happy.”
According to documents published by the New York Times in June, Riley will pay her grandma a lump sum of $1 million as well as $400,000 in legal costs as part of the settlement.
