According to ESPN’s Josh Weinfuss, there is “little doubt” that Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray tore his ACL during Monday night’s 27-13 loss to the New England Patriots.
After the third snap of the game, Murray was rolled off the field. He was attempting to scramble for a first down when he went down with a non-contact leg injury. At the conclusion of the first quarter, he was declared out.

Kliff Kingsbury, the coach of the Cardinals, told reporters after the game that it “doesn’t look good.”
With a hamstring injury earlier in the year, the 25-year-old missed two games. In Week 12’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers, he made a comeback and finished with 191 passing yards, two touchdowns, and an interception, in addition to 56 rushing yards and another score.
Murray suffered the hamstring injury in a loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Oct. 30 and aggravated it the following week against the Seattle Seahawks, missing games against the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers.

Entering Monday’s matchup, he had thrown for 2,359 yards and 14 touchdowns against seven interceptions with 415 rushing yards and three more scores. He’d completed 66.3 percent of his passes, down from 69.2 percent in 2021.
Murray, who was drafted first overall in 2019, began his career with 32 consecutive starts and quickly earned a reputation for his toughness. However, by the end of this season, he will have missed nine games since the start of 2021.
Murray was replaced by veteran backup Colt McCoy on Monday. In two starts earlier this year, the 36-year-old threw for 456 yards and a touchdown with an interception, and Arizona went 1-1.
