Jeremy Renner is back in business.
The 52-year-old actor made a successful, poignant comeback to the red carpet on Tuesday for the premiere of his new Disney+ series Rennervations, his first public event appearance since his tragic snowplough accident on January 1st.
Renner was attended by his 10-year-old daughter Ava Berlin Renner, He walked hand in hand. He was using a cane, at the Regency Village Theatre in Los Angeles during the event. Renner wore a traditional navy blue suit, and the duo looked adorable in matching clothes. His daughter was dressed in a blue gown with a classic necklace and earrings.
“I’m overflowing with gratitude and excitement unlike anything I have felt in a very, very long time, you know?” Renner, who was joined on the red carpet by his family, tells PEOPLE. This is not a movie and a show that I am promoting, Its my life man this is what i do.
“My breath is taken away by how honoured I am that we’re even here even talking about it, you know what I mean? We had people calling me crazy a good five years ago, like, ‘What are you going to do with all these trucks?’ Like, Trust me, I’ve got a good idea, Renner said.
I had a vision, but it taken a lot of people to help me realise it, you know? It seems so easy in my brain. Oh, yeah. Right. Yeah, the idea is easy, Renner said, while laughing. The idea is the easy part, Geez Louise.
He said the event as his first time to get out of my bed and out of rehab and, you know, to be on my feet and out in the world. This is a lot for me, but it is a step in the right way, right?
He also stated that baby Ava has an important part in the show.
“My daughter is a big part of the design on some of these, on these buses and these ideas, she’s been a big part of that narrative on the show, but also in the behind the scenes of it all.”
Renner damaged more than 30 bones and had many surgeries after surviving the New Year’s Day disaster on his farm near Reno, Nevada.
Jeremy Renner is Back
The Avengers star was initially in “serious but stable condition” after his snowplough, weighing at least 14,330 pounds, ran him over while he was helping a family member with a stuck car in the snow. He was attempting to save his nephew when the accident happened.
Renner disclosed his recovery last month, uploading a video of himself walking on a treadmill, and has kept fans updated on his progress in the three months after the event.
The Oscar contender previously told Diane Sawyer that he is attempting to change the narrative of being victimised, making a mistake, or anything else, adding last week during an ABC interview, “I refuse to be f—-ing tormented by that memory in any manner.
Some of Marvel star and co-stars, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Chris Evans, Chris Pratt, and Evangeline Lilly, have also support him, both electronically and in person.
In Rennervations, the actor works with celebs such as Vanessa Hudgens, Anthony Mackie, Anil Kapoor, and Sebastián Yatra to help charity by refurbishing decommissioned cars. Renner’s best friend Rory Millikin will also play a role.
Renner will work on projects all around the world, including Chicago and his birthplace of Reno, as well as Mexico and India. His goal in each location is to improve the communities he visits, and he works with local groups to fulfil that goal in each episode.
“I’ve been on this journey for many years, and I started in my community by building vehicles for people in need. But a few years ago, I thought, How can I plus this up and create a bigger impact on a whole community? And that’s what this show does,” Renner said in a release from Disney.
He said, This is one of my biggest passions and it’s a helping me in my recovery, and I can’t wait for the world to see it.
