As a result of the death fake, Twitter went wild, trending keywords like “RIP Jeremy Renner.” It spread after a picture of a misleading Guardian headline went viral. The fake rumors were sparked by a photoshopped image of the article, despite the fact that it cannot be located on the news websites.
The headline of the fake article’s photograph stated, “Jeremy Renner, actor, dies at age 52 escalator accident. The Avengers star passed away at a hospital in San Jose after being in serious condition.
